Director Robert Rodriguez has come a long way since shooting El Mariachi in 1992. Those were the days that he had to do everything. Robert was a one man wrecking crew. Rodriguez also sold his body for medical experiments to fund his movie projects.

I respect that. Rodriquez wrote, produced, directed, shot, finaced and edited his first movie. All that hard work paid off because he is one of the top directors who has a special niche not only in kid flicks such as SPY KIDS & SHORTS but in Ultra Slick/Violent adult movies like Sin City & Grind House. His book, Rebel without a Crew: Or How a 23-Year-Old Filmmaker With $7000 Became a Hollywood Player, is one of my favorites on film making and is an enjoyable read.
