Former SAG President Melissa Gilbert had a tumultuous ride in office. Gilbert was accused of working in Canada to save production costs on her entertainment ventures. Canada has very tight rules for American Actors working there yet are laxed on rules when American companies spend money to shoot their TV and Film productions on Canadian soil. It will be interesting to see if Melissa Gilbert can draw any votes from SAG and AFTRA members as they fight to join the two unions together.
