SHAOLIN Wheel of Life Monks

Its a long story but I have had a love affair with Kung Fu, Martial Arts, Bruce Lee, Jet Li, Tony Jaa and the movie Shaolin vs Wu Tang Klan. A few years ago, I had the pleasure of being invited and going on stage with Shaolin Monks performing downtown. They were very nice and so talented. One Monk is balanced on spears with his full body weight pressed against them. So imagine my delight as I saw the familiar robes and shoes striding down Hollywood blvd. I immediately went over and spoke what little Chinese that I know. I asked if I could get one of their robes in purple. They said no. They were wearing beautifully bright fabric that flowed as they moved. There were a couple of English speakers in their group and I spoke with them about seeing the Monks previously. They told me that these were monks from the same temple but a different group and that they were performing in a new show SUPERSTAR DANCERS OF THE WORLD on NBC. This show has contestants representing 8 countries depicting a specific style of dance brought to you by the same producers who brought you AMERICAN IDOL and DO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE.
Anyway, one Shaolin Monk who was from England told me that when he was eleven, he saw the group perform and he knew that is what he wanted to be so he was accepted into the Chinese Monastery. I enjoy hanging out with the monks. We have a lot in common we both are getting any sex. By choice!!!! Ha Ha! Anyway, watch the videos and check out their site @ http://www.shaolinwheeloflife.com

John & Jim 2 Music Greats

In the strange coincidences of the Universe Book, John Lennon was murdered on this day in 1980 and Jim Morrison was born on this date in 1943. First off, I'm a Rolling Stone fan over the Beatles but I prefer JOHN LENNON over Paul McCartney. I found so much about John Lennon and his furthering human/civil rights. Also the FBI followed him due to Richard Nixon's fear and dislike of Lennon's influence. One of my favorite stories about John Lennon is how he looked at his future wife's art installation. Yoko had a ladder looking up to the ceiling and when John climbed the ladder, the word "YES" was what he found. Also being a David Bowie admirer, knowing that the two collaborated on the song FAME makes me smile.
As for Jim Morrison of the Doors, one of my favorite photographers Annie Leibovitz took the photo of Jim for the cover of ROLLING STONE magazine which is one of the greatest photographs of a Rock Star ever taken. You know the one with Morrison shirtless, baring his chest and his arms out. It is amazing Jim died at 27. Poet, Libertine, Star. What would music and culture be without the two. Thank the Universe we have their music, words and pictures to still stir our souls.

Shia LaBeouf Looses One Role and Gets Another

Shia LaBeouf has made a name not only as a talented young actor but also as a "bad boy" of Hollywood. Drinking & driving allegations as well as a wild car wreck have dubbed the star as a wild one. At only 22, Shia has been in blockbusters: THE TRANSFORMERS and INDIANA JONES & The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. It was reported that he lost a role in a movie called "Dark Fields" due to his lingering hand injury that took place during his car wreck earlier this year. Although he may have to have more surgery in his injured hand, LaBeouf is slated to star in a John Grisham's thriller called "The Associate."

Acting Governator Declares Emergency in CA

Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger declares that CA is in a financial disaster. With a current deficit of $11.2 billion dollars and a gap in revenue of over $25 billion, the Governor has decided against getting emergency help from the federal government. Schwarzenegger's plan is to raise sales tax in the state, increase cost in vehicle registration, reduce spending on CA education, reduce spending in low income services and an economic stimulus program.
