For the US Premiere of THE ROAD, Viggo Mortensen, Charlize Theron, and Director John Hillcoat were in the house. Lovely Charlize has been rumored to be pregnant and that maybe the reason she has recently has dropped out of several projects. Viggo was interviewed before the screening and John Hillcoat spoke briefly before the film. The Road is a bleak depiction of an apocolypse world where a father played by Mortensen protects his son at any cost. Charlize Theron plays the wife who makes a decision based on her fears for the future. This is an austere film shot in a sobering grayish film acted deftly by the cast.
