Dr.Lillian Glass Talks About Michael Jackson's Legacy

I haven't been myself lately. I lost my favorite KAT cap which had Swarovski crystals on it that was in so many of my videos, I lost interest in shooting some days and the quality of my work has been impaired. I asked Dr. Lillian Glass who is a body language expert what can help for those suffering with grief...

KAT's Tribute 2 Michael Jackson

I didn't get officially authorization to do this from the Church. I hope they don't mind but I love "LLC" and I thought it fit with this video...

By editing this video, I realized that I did indeed touch MJ's hands. I can tell by the long fingernails. I forgot that I touched him. I'm glad.

Oscar Winner Bert Schneider Mourning Michael Jackson

I met an extraordinary man the other day. He is an old friend of Quween's. At first he reminded me of an older version of David Bowie. If you are familiar with the movie THE HUNGER there is a scene when Bowie's character ages while waiting for Susan Sarandon. Bert Schneider is an amazing man with so much sorrow. Like Michael Jackson & Charlie Chaplin, Schneider is a creative genius. I firmly believe that everyone has a story to tell. Bert Schneider was Executive Producer for Hearts and Minds, 5 Easy Pieces, Days of Heaven, The Last Picture Show, Head and the TV Show The Monkees. I love the diner scene in 5 Easy Pieces and I told Bert. The scene where Jack Nicholson wants toast and the waitress won't give it to him. And he tries to accommodate her but she keeps giving him a hard time. To me that scene exemplifies all of us who suffer with bureaucracy, the inertia of rules and forms. 5 Easy Pieces took Jack Nicholson on his way to super stardom. Schneider kissed me on the cheek when I told him what I thought of that movie. Bert told me so many great stories and I begged him to tape them all. He said that he promised that I could do a full interview soon but not today. I told him that I learned from the Michael Jackson situation that I can no longer assume that I will be given another chance to talk with someone. Death can take anyone of us at anytime. He told Quween and I about Charlie Chaplin and Michael Jackson's admiration for each other and a Happy Birthday to Charlie Chaplin that never was...

Rolanda Watts & Dr. Lillian Glass Make KAT Feel Better

It has been a tough 2 weeks. Before this video was shot, I was at the Staples Center getting ready for the MJ Memorial (see following post). Charles from the Genius Machine was in Beverly Hills and it was the first time we had seen each other since MJ's death. Charles and I had video'd Michael Jackson several times and the last time we did we shot a segment while we were waiting for the King of Pop. Charles, myself and some other people were making jokes and having fun (please see my Michael Jackson videos). We of course had no idea that the day would be the last time we would see MJ alive. On Friday, I asked Charles where he had been and he told me that he had to take some time off. We were both sad so when I saw Rolanda and her friend Lillian Glass, I was happy to see them.

Michael Jackson & Anime

In a strange twist of fate, preparation for Michael Jackson's Memorial Service at Staples is taking place while an Anime Convention is happening. The above are photos that were taken on Friday, July 3rd.

Quween Visits Star of Michael Jackson

On Saturday I took Quween to Hollywood to see MJ's star. It was an exhausting experience. I felt like Hollywood Blvd had forever changed. I have never seen anything like it. Michael Jackson's star that so many times I have seen clean and pristine or slightly dirty with tourists always snapping pictures til this day where it was mobbed with flowers, teddy bears, a giraffe, a flat screen TV, posters, gloves and pictures. A few days before the star was organized. Today it was a mess.
There were security organizing the crowd to move and a steel fence surrounding the block. There were numerous vendors selling T-shirts, gloves, posters and the like all making a buck off the passing of an icon. Joe Jackson would be so proud. I was finding it disgusting. I didn't like the scene. I wanted to leave but Quween wanted to be there and take it all in so I photographed her and other visitors to history.

Everything was so surreal like a daytime nightmare. Everything was for sale. I hope I never see Hollywood Blvd look like it did ever again.

Marla Maples and Rolanda Watts Celebrate Michael Jackson

Here is Marla and Rolanda talking with me about Michael Jackson at the Laserarium...

Brennan Hillard of Dance Flick Mourning the Loss of Michael Jackson

On the afternoon that MJ died, I had just photographed Flava Flav and on my way to cover the opening of the Laserarium, I got the news directly from a friend that Michael Jackson had died while I was driving to Hollywood. I still had work to do and people were calling me and I still wanted to work so I wouldn't have to feel but I felt anyway. This is one of the interviews (there are sooooo many regarding MJ's death). Brennan Hillard of DANCE FLICK discuss the loss.
